Intentional Growth Center

Dr. David L. Davis became the Executive Director for the Intentional Growth Center (IGC) effective March 1, 2018. Dr. Davis comes to this position with long experience in the United Methodist Church and in the larger not-for-profit world.

Having served as a pastor in the North Georgia Annual Conference where he worked to start new churches and to equip existing churches for extensive turn around, Davis understands the complexity of local church life and has the skills to lead the IGC to expand on and to develop innovative ways to support clergy and laity local church leadership to become even more effective. He will work to build and to create new and existing partnerships for support of leaders across the spectrum of local church ministries.

The Intentional Growth Center’s mission is increasing pastoral and congregational effectiveness in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Dr. Davis has a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology, Emory University and a Doctor of Ministry from Princeton Theological School. He has done extensive learning in the areas of Biblical studies, congregational and organizational development, fund development, and team building. Most recently, Dr. Davis has been the director of development for Honduras Outreach International. He has served on a North Georgia District Board of Ordained Ministries and on the conference committee on church development.

He will engage the work of the Intentional Growth Center well and will endeavor to lead the organization into new ways of delivering services directly related to the IGC’s mission that match the needs of clergy and laity in the United Methodist Church,” states Rev. Karen Greenwaldt, IGC Board of Directors Chairperson.

“Dr. Davis will lead us to the next level of greatness as a ministry of The United Methodist Church. IGC under his leadership will become an organization known for coming along side clergy and laity to develop the best of leaderships for our Church. I am excited that he has said yes to be our new director,” said Dr. Dana Everhart, Chairperson of IGC’s Search Committee.
